When he's thrown, he's looking for something -- anything -- to break his fall. His fingers catch but ultimately slip against the edge of the roof stupid ice, so it's not quite as bad when he comes crashing to the ground.
Except he landed on his arm. He grits his teeth against the pain as he uses his now uninjured arm to push himself up. When he does that, there's a moment where he attempts to figure out the extent of the damage. At the very least, it was a bad sprain...at the most? A break.
