Because no matter what, any friendship you'd make would still have happened. Sure, lots of things can go wrong. But I don't think that's a good enough excuse to not try at all. You have to live more in the present, like a leaf in the wind. Whatever you accomplish here, it'll still have worth as long as you've ever felt it.
